News From Needham Baseball
Registration is still open for the 2012 Summer Baseball program
Needham Little League Baseball provides a highly competitive baseball program in the summer for players in the U7 - U15 age groups. These teams are for committed baseball players who want a competitive local alternative to AAU baseball (although playing AAU does not preclude you from playing in our league). Players will participate in winter workouts, tournaments and play at the highest level of baseball. This program will stress skill development and competition. The coaches will be carefully selected and provided with the training and resources to improve players’ skills. Players will also receive specialized positional training from professional instructors.
U9-U12 - there will be an enhanced winter workout schedule of which the first six (6) clinics will also double as tryouts. The evaluations for the summer tryouts will be conducted by the professional coaches at TJO along with input from knowledgeable baseball coaches with experience in our program. Teams will be selected by the end of February 2012 and participate in the Suburban League. Players must register and have paid by January 21, 2012.
The clinics will be held at TJO Sports on the following dates: January 22, January 29, February 5, February 12, February 19, February 26, March 4, March 11, March 18, and March 25.
U9 & U10: 4-5:30PM
U11 & U12: 5:30-7:00PM
U7-U8 - there will be late spring workouts with balanced teams selected by early June. Teams in this division will participate in the Friendship League. The deadline for registration is June 1st.
U13-U15 - players will receive local batting cage time with teams finalized by April 1st. These teams will participate in the South Shore League. The deadline for registration is March 1st.
The cost of the program including all the training remains $150 per player.

Boys and Girls Grades Grades 4 - 8 or Ages 10- 14
Saturday March 24 and Saturday March 31
Session 1: 9 AM -11 AM
Session 2 : 11:30AM - 1:30 PM
Session 3 : 2PM - 4PM
Players should sign up for 1 session held on 2 different days.
RECOMMENDED ONLY 1 SESSION EACH DAY IN GRADES 4, 5 & 6!
COST : $45.00 per session

All proceeds directly benefit 'Needham High Baseball' and its annual trip to Cooperstown, N.Y.
CLINIC FEATURES: Personal Instruction & Training on stance, swing, mental approach WITH USE OF Batting Cages, Soft Toss Machines, ATEC Machines, Whiffleball Machines, Solo Hitter, Batting Tees; Throwing and Arm Conditioning Drills and Simulated Games!!! Players should bring their sneakers, Fielding and Batting gloves and Wood Bats. All other equipment is provided. LIMIT OF 30 PLAYERS PER SESSION!!!!!!!!.

Board Meetings - The Next Board Meeting is Tuesday, February 7, 2012 @ 8:00PM
Board meetings are regularly scheduled for the first Tuesday of the month from October through January and the first and third Tuesday of the month from February through June. The meetings are held at the Charles River Center in Needham.
Park & Rec Field Status
