16-18 League

2008

 

 

1. Games will be 6 innings in length.
    
2. Non rostered players brought up to a 16-18 League game can not pitch.
    
3. Non rostered players brought up to a 16-18 League game can not play more innings in that game than a regular roster player (absent unavoidable circumstances).
    
4. Each Player must play at least 3 innings in the field and have 1 at bat (absent unavoidable circumstances).
    
5. No games shall be forfeited providing 18 eligible players are available between the 2 teams and both teams have at least 7 eligible players. The team with the greater number of players, the supply team will designate player or players as appropriate. A different player can be designated at the top of every inning. The supplied players can play any position as designated by the receiving team Manager with the exception of pitcher. The supplied players will bat for the receiving team in a batting order determined by the receiving team Manager.
    
6. No hidden Ball play.
    
7. Balks: each pitcher will receive 1 warning per regular season game. Full balk rule applies in the playoffs.
    
8. All bats, wood, metal or composite, are limited to a maximum length/weight differential of minus 3.
    
9. We will use a continuous batting order, with free substitution. 

 

Substitute Managers

 

In the event that a manager is not be able to attend a scheduled practice and/or game, only his/her Board-approved coaches may substitute as manager.  In the event that no Board-approved coach is available, the manager must coordinate with the League Director to arrange for a Board-approved coach to take over for that game and/or practice.  It is ultimately the responsibility of the League Director to make his best effort to find approved coaches to cover games so that the players are not penalized by a game cancellation.

 

In no instance may the manager independently authorize a non-Board-approved coach to take over in his/her absence.
